Sometimes Dreams Do Come True.

The scarcity philosophy is based on the concept that there is only a limited supply of any particular commodity…or service.  That means if one is to win another must lose.  It has become so prevalent in our thinking that we hardly even realize that is our belief.  Yet, it is no longer true, and…in retrospect never was.

We have a real-life example from three dentists with whom we have been working.

Dr. A.

Dr. A. was in a great location in a large Southeast city but had not felt the type of growth and income increases that seemed appropriate for the number of years she had been practicing dentistry. Truth is, on our first visit she told me that she heard a number of offices very close to her were producing $100,000 per month.  She asked us to do a practice evaluation.  For Dr. A  our task seemed to be typical for us.  That is, establish solid protocols in all areas so that the staff and doctor are functioning nearer maximum efficiency, increase production about $10,000-15,000/month to start and by concentrating initially on the hygiene scheduling, ensure that the team is acting professionally and as a TEAM, and help build new habits so that gains are permanent.  Her average production had been about $65,000/month for approx. two years running. Within a few months she was averaging more than $80,000/month.  Within a year she was averaging in the high $90,000′s.  (This increase was key to her practice valuation.)

However, we always want to know what the dream is of the dentists we assist.  Dr. A had built an incredible new home in a new suburb where she felt that raising her family would better match her own upbringing.  Dr. A’s dream in five years was to hire an associate to allow her more personal time to spend with her young children as they grew.  Dr. A’s dream became a reality and we are honored to be a part of her success.

Dr. B.

Dr. B. is a younger practitioner whom we met and actually opened his practice with him a few years ago.  He was very satisfied with his protocols and what he was producing and collecting at the time so we parted ways.  Dr. B.  had made some changes to his staff and then to his protocol’s and all of a sudden he was producing in the low $40,000′s.  He and his team just didn’t see the decrease coming.  Dr. B.  gave us a call and asked for an evaluation to see what happened to his practice.  We came in and set up our protocols, hired new staff for a better team, set up another hygiene schedule and got to work on his new goals.  He had gone from the $70,000′s to $60,000′s and then down to $40,000 in a matter of a year and a half.  Presently, he and his staff are in the high $80,000′s going toward their new goal of $95,000.

Dr. B’s. dream was to own and manage a million dollar practice… to be able to give back to the community and help many others who are not as fortunate in his church.  We are very proud of Dr. C and happy to be of assistance.

Dr. C.

Dr. C. had built an exceptional practice for the past thirty years in a very nice suburb.  Dr. C. wanted more time off to travel and be with his family.   His children had graduated from college, married and now he had several grandchildren.  Dr. C’s. practice had been averaging about $70,000/mo. at that time.  His problem was that the practice had provided a good income, but there was just not enough time off to travel and enjoy his family.  He had read our “Tidbits” and one day decided to call us.  We met and immediately set up the hygiene, doctor ideal scheduling protocol’s to meet his needs, worked with his team to get them to understand how you can increase your goals to attain $100,000+ without compromising the quality of patient care.  Presently, he has an Associate which allows him even more time off.

Dr. C. is living his dream… working less, traveling and enjoying his family… and we thank him for working with us.
